1) I am God's son, and in this life I have chosen to be Indian, be born in the UK, and have the name, "Neil Patel". I chose this specifically to fulfill some work I had to do out here....no, I'm not a weirdo! We all chose our lives before we are born according to our past karma...I even chose the name "Neil" because in Sanskrit, "Nil" means Blue - and Blue is the colour of Chelsea football club. So there. 2) I am a disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. Yogananda was my mother's Guru when I was a child, so I took him as mine. A Guru follows you from lifetime to lifetime, I believe my Guru followed me here to help me through this life. Humility is the core message of Yoga. Too many yoga teachers' think they are special beings, we are not, we are the servants of society. We are the students who had the balls to teach or liked telling people what to do! : ) 3) I am the child of Tara and Kirit Patel. My mother was an Indian dancer and Yoga master, and my father is still a hustler! My mother is the reason I took this birth, she needed me here to help her with her work in the future - she called me to be her child, and I came for her. Now the message of yoga she started teaching in 1975 has been going on for 33 years....I don't have children, but every word I say has legs, arms, and a brain of its own...and these babies will live long after I am gone in the souls of those who know me well... 4) I am a Yoga teacher, Musician, and Writer. I started instructing as a teenager, and took over my mother's work initially. Now I run Chi Kri Yoga based in NW London. I have been producing hip hop and rapping since my teens too - this is my passion. I write poetry, spiritual science, and philosophy. Words are my instruments of battle - my swords, my sheids, and my messengers. Words are the most potent thing I have...they lie next to me at night whispering themselves away. In my spare time I meditate, spend time with chosen individuals, and....no I don't get much spare time really! That's it. If I watch TV, it is to see Chelsea....or South Park! My favourite charector is "Butters" because he was a yogi in his last life. Who else can take so much s**t from Cartman and still say, "oh...ok"...? : ) I hold Butters and Gandhi on similar pedestals in my mind. My belief in life is that we are all here to learn - to find the soul and Spirit - then to help others with whatever gifts the Spirit has loaned to us. My gifts are sound, thoughts, and yogic disciplines. But when I die, I will give all these tools back....and probably just be a gardener or a bus driver in Willsden next time.
