Famous Actors,Award Winning Audio & Great Radio. Please spare a thought or raise your glass to the humble sound engineer. Often driven quite mad.... Robert Nichol and John Mayfield have recorded and produced over 1000 Audiobooks -the proper ones - all unabridged -some upto 24 hours long ! When you listen to audio a lot of work has been put into creating it. Here is ' raw audio ' - you will see what a burp looks like in audio form. Do you know these actors ??? We did have fun - you have to have a laugh when you may be spending 6 days recording in a small studio. Just the Actor, a director and the ' humble sound engineer. After recording the 'raw audio ' gets edited to form ' nice audio' for sale or broadcast. If you have a reader who makes a lot of 'fluffs' -mistakes. Then it takes about 5hrs editing to create 45 minutes of ' great reading ' Robert Nichol and John Mayfield have in the past spent over 50 hours to edit ONE 8 hour audio book. This was pre-digital editing and involved cutting reel to reel tape then re joining with stick tape -and thats less than 20 years ago. Now its all digital -The session in the video is of a Pro-Tools session on a Mac. More to come.......
